Ijaw community asks Tinubu to caution FCT Minister, Wike

The leadership of the Ijaw National Congress Worldwide has called on President Bola Tinubu to intervene and caution the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike.

Benjamin Okaba, President of the Congress, expressed concerns about the ongoing crisis in Rivers State, attributing the turmoil to Wike’s political ambitions.

Speaking at a press briefing in Abuja on Tuesday, Okaba highlighted the growing tension between Wike and the state governor, Siminialayi Fubara, over control of political power in the oil-rich state.

The Congress warned that if the situation is not addressed, it could escalate into a larger political crisis, potentially impacting other states across the nation.

Okaba appealed directly to President Tinubu, saying, “Mr President, as the father of the nation, we earnestly ask you to call the FCT Minister to order for the sake of peace and security in Nigeria. We must halt this drift toward national disintegration and anarchy now.”
