Fire razes Zamfara House of Assembly Speaker’s residence

A fire has damaged a portion of the official house of the Speaker of the Zamfara State House of Assembly in Gusau, the state capital.

AFRIPOST reports that the inferno occurred over the weekend.

Fortunately, no deaths were recorded, but the damage was substantial, with millions of Naira worth of property destroyed.

In a press statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Bello Madaro, the House Clerk, Alhaji Mahmud Aliyu, expressed dismay on behalf of the Assembly and its personnel, describing the incident as a tragic calamity.

He compared the fire to an act of Allah and expressed his condolences to the Speaker, Hon. Bilyaminu Ismail Moriki, his family, and the inhabitants of Zurmi West.

Since the tragedy, various political figures and supporters have sympathized with the Speaker.

The Speaker expressed gratitude to God for the lack of casualties and thanked everyone involved in putting out the fire.
