The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the death of an unidentified woman at a hotel located in the Dopemu area of Lagos.
According to the command’s spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the tragic incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. on Friday.
Speaking to journalists on Sunday, Mr. Hundeyin explained that the hotel’s manager reported the case to the Dopemu Police Division.
The manager recounted that a man had checked into the hotel with a woman, but neither of their identities were recorded.
After about an hour, the woman reportedly rushed out of the room, complaining of extreme heat.
The manager gave her cold water in an attempt to help, but her condition did not improve.
The woman was eventually taken to a nearby hospital on Dopemu Road, where she sadly passed away.
Meanwhile, the man who accompanied her to the hotel had fled the scene.
SP Hundeyin further revealed that the hotel manager is currently in police custody to assist with the investigation.
The woman’s body has been taken to the Lagos Mainland General Hospital mortuary, as authorities work to determine the cause of her death, identify her, and locate the absconding man.
