Sunday Igboho petitions UK PM for support in Yoruba nation creation

Yoruba Nation advocate, Sunday Adeyemo, widely known as Sunday Igboho, has officially submitted a petition to the United Kingdom’s Prime Minister, Keir Starmer, calling for consideration of the formation of a Yoruba nation.

The announcement was made by Olayomi Koiki, Igboho’s spokesperson, in a social media post shared on Sunday.

Koiki confirmed that the petition was presented on behalf of Professor Adebanji Akintoye, the leader of the Yoruba Nation mvement.

In his post, Koiki wrote, “At exactly 14:00 hrs, Dr. Chief Sunday Igboho delivered a petition to the UK Prime Minister on behalf of Prof. Adebanji Akintoye, leader of the YORUBA NATION movement, and myself, Olayomi Koiki, at 10 Downing Street.”

Among those who accompanied Igboho during the petition submission were the Diaspora Youth Leader, Prophet Ologunoluwa; Vice President of Ifeladun Apapo, Fatai Ogunribido; General Secretary of Yoruba World Media, Alhaja Adeyeye; and member of the Yoruba Nation Movement, Paul Odebiyi.

According to a report by PUNCH, the Yoruba Nation movement is urging the UK government to intervene and support their cause to establish a nation where Yoruba people would be the dominant ethnic group.
