Police commence disciplinary action against officer for harassing woman in Abuja

The Federal Capital Territory Police Force has initiated disciplinary measures against an officer who was observed harassing a lady at night in the Galadimawa Roundabout region of the nation’s capital rather than doing his stop-and-search responsibilities.

The victim came forward to identify him, and the officer was called, according to a report released on Wednesday, October 9, by Josephine Adeh, the FCT Police Command Spokesperson, on her X account.

Adeh wrote: “The police officer assigned to Galadimawa Roundabout for stop-and-search duties, who was seen harassing a woman at night on October 6, 2024, has been summoned. The victim has come forward and identified the officer involved. Disciplinary action and a trial have also commenced.
