The Nigerian Army and Sector 3 Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) have arrested three suspected bandits and a logistics provider connected to terrorists both inside and outside of Taraba State.
With the arrest, the soldiers of the 6 Brigade made significant progress in the continuing war against crime and terrorism.
The arrest was revealed by the Nigerian army in its press release across its social media pages.
The army revealed that on October 7, 2024, a special operation was conducted in the Andamin general region of Karim Lamido LGA in response to reliable intelligence information.
The operation was effective in apprehending a few suspected bandits at Jeb – Jeb, a border hamlet between Taraba and Plateau States.
The bandits, known as Adamu Abubakar, Mohammed Bello, and Musa Adamu, are said to be in charge of several crimes, such as violent attacks on local villages, kidnappings, and armed robberies.
The 6 Brigade is making these arrests as part of a larger attempt to stop the increasing tide of interstate criminality inside its Area of Operations.
The suspects have been operating in the state for several years, according to the preliminary investigation, and efforts are on to capture the remaining members of the criminal syndicate.
In a different operation in Bunka village in Lau LGA, a significant terrorist logistics provider who collaborated with a well-known terrorist organisation in Taraba state was also taken into custody. It is thought that the suspect, Musa Inusa, is giving terrorists operating in the area other materials as well as necessary supplies.
It is anticipated that his apprehension will cause a deter in the supply chain and exacerbate the group’s operating vulnerabilities.
A Jack Knife, two thousand four hundred and sixty naira, wraps of what seems to be Indian hemp, and other illegal narcotics are among the items that were found on him. The degree of his participation with terrorists and criminals in the state is still being investigated by the army.
In its statement, the Nigerian Army’s 6 Brigade promises the people that it will keep up its full might in the battle against terrorism and banditry. The army further advised the public to keep an eye out and alert law authorities to any questionable activities.
