The Secretariat of Ikwerre Local Government Area in Rivers State has been set on fire by suspected thugs.
The burning of the Ikwere local government secretariat follows the earlier reports that a section of the Eleme Local Government Council secretariat in Rivers State was also set on fire.
The incident is coming days after the Rivers Local Government Elections, in which the Action Peoples Party, APP, won most seats.
Recall that the Inspector General of Police, IGP directed his men to vacate the 23 local government area Secretariats of Rivers State.
Rivers State has been in the news for several months, with heightened tensions in recent weeks before and after the local government elections in the state.
