Over the weekend, armed bandits attacked Kanya village in Danko/Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State, abducting the district head, Alhaji Isah Daya, and seven others.
The attackers killed one person and injured three others, who are currently receiving treatment in the hospital.
Kebbi State Police spokesperson, Nafiu Abubakar, confirmed the attack and identified the deceased as Sherrif Alhaji Almu. He further stated that a combined security team, led by the police, has launched a manhunt to capture the culprits and rescue the abductees.
Abubakar also highlighted that the Kebbi State government has provided necessary logistics to combat banditry, particularly in the Kebbi South region and Zuru Emirate.
This attack comes just days after armed bandits killed the APC Chairman of Suru Local Government and abducted another person in Matseri village, Bunza council.
