Strike looms as ASUU holds crucial meeting over disagreement with FG

The Academic Staff Union of Universities’ leadership will meet today, Thursday, in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja to discuss the outstanding matters with the Nigerian government.

ASUU had threatened to embark on strike 14 days after its last ultimatum if their demands are not met.

The union had vowed to shut down the nation’s universities if their longstanding grievances were not looked into.

Recall that it had earlier given a 21-day notice on August 18, demanding that the government should address their demands.

ASUU is expected to deliver a “State of the Nation” address in its today’s meeting.

It’s yet clear the decision that is likely to come from the meeting.
