God has high expectations on humanity – Omoyayi

Human beings are not created for fun but to be fruitful, productive and be ready to fulfill God’s plans for humanity.

The sermon was delivered by Reverend Canon Samuel Olayinka Omoyayi during the wake- keep service for late Surveyor Joseph Segun Oladejo at the Cathedral of St Peter, Aremo, Ibadan hall.

The statement was contained in the press release issued and signed by the Ibadan North Anglican Diocesan Communicator, Comrade Solomon Olugbemiga Ayoade.

The cleric while addressing the gathering, said that God created human beings to bear the fruits of peace, love for one another, assistance to the neediest, to be responsible at any position we find ourselves and above all to be law abiding and give respect and honour to the constituted authorities.

“And he answering said unto him, Lord,let it alone this year also,till I shall dig about it and dung it, if it bear fruit, well and if not, then after that thou shall cut it down ” meaning that God is giving us chance hoping that we will amend our ways and repent our evil doings, that whoever receives God blessings mercies but refuse to use them for God and humanity will be removed like the fig tree that bears no fruit.

The cleric urged the congregation to use their wealth for the betterment of all and sundry.

“In heaven, we are equal before God, for you to be richer than the others is through the grace and opportunity and should not misuse it by being self centered, he further stressed”.

Describing late Surveyor Joseph Segun Oladejo as shinning example of Christianity, humble, philanthropic, cheerful giver, dedicated,a role model in the field of survey, in Aremo Christian Fellowship, in his family and the society at large, the Canon charged those of us left behind to emulate his good deeds while he was alive.

The officiating ministers at the service were Venerable Jire Adekunle, Venerable James Ajayi and the preacher Rev’d Canon Samuel Olayinka Omoyayi among others.

The occasion was attended by dignitaries such as the president of Aremo Christian Fellowship (ACF) Engnr. Odeniyi Alao and his exco members, traditional rulers such as Chief and Mrs Folorunso Akanmu, Chief Diipo Gbenro, professionals colleagues in the field of survey which included Oyo State Surveyor General surveyor Okunlola Amos Oyewale, former surveyor – General, surveyor Akintola Femi, retired Permanent Secretaries, society members, children, family members, church members and other well- wishers.

Prayers were offered for the deceased, his children, family, his society, the congregation and all that attended the service.
