Jagunmolu Olubadan launches distribution of solar street lights, agro sprayers in Oyo

The Jagunmolu Olubadan of Ibadanland, Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi has launched the distribution of solar-powered street lights and agro sprayers in Oyo state.

Our correspondent gathered that the initiative is part of efforts to enhance rural infrastructure and boost agricultural productivity within the state.

The symbolic launch which took place at the weekend marked the beginning of the distribution of these essential resources to various local governments.

The items were handed over to the immediate past local government chairmen, who will be responsible for overseeing the deployment of the solar street lights and agro sprayers in their respective areas.

The immediate past Chairman of Lagelu Local Government, Hon. Kazeem Gbadamosi, noted that local governments such as Ibarapa Central, Ibarapa East, Ibarapa North, Atiba, Ogbomosho North, Afijio, Akinyele, Olorunsogo, Ibadan North, Oyo East, Iddo, Lagelu, Oyo West, Oluyole, and Ogo Oluwa, among others, have already received their allotment of these resources.

Sanusi while speaking, emphasized that the installation of solar-powered street lights will significantly improve security and visibility in local communities while promoting the use of renewable energy for environmental sustainability.

He said, “The provision of agro sprayers aims to support local farmers in increasing their crop yields and efficiency, further strengthening the agricultural sector in Oyo State”.
