Ilaji Muslim community celebrates Maulid Nabiyy

The Muslim community of Ilaji in Ona Ara local government area of Oyo on Sunday celebrated this year’s Maulid Nabiyy.

The event was attended by the Chief Imam of Ibadanland, His Eminence, Sheikh AbdulGaniy Abubakry Agbotomokekere.

The event was hosted by Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi’s Ilaji Muslim community.

The event, held at the Ilaji Resort International Mini Stadium, attracted a large gathering of dignitaries and Muslim faithful.

Prominent Muslim organizations such as FOMWAN, NASFAT, and QUAREEB were also in attendance, alongside various community leaders including Ibadan Mogajis, Baales, and warlords, as well as market leaders.

The Grand Mufty of Oyo State, Fadilat Sheikh Ismail Okunmebo, delivered a keynote lecture on “Leadership and Its Qualities in Islam”.

He emphasised the Islamic perspective on governance and moral responsibility.

Special prayers were offered for Sanusi, who is the Jagun Olubadan of Ibadanland.
