Use your position for development of Ibadanland- Olubadan charges elevated chiefs

The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Akinloye Owolabi Olakulehin, has charged the newly elevated traditional title holders to use their new positions for the development of Ibadanland.

The traditional ruler gave the charge during the promotion of six traditional chiefs in the Balogun line.

The event took place at Olubadan palace, Oke Aremo, Ibadan on Friday.

According to the monarch, the promotion was in line with the tradition of ascendancy to the Olubadan stool.

Olubadan while speaking, urged the newly elevated traditional title holders to use their positions for the development and progress of Ibadanland.

“You have been elevated to various new positions in Balogun line today. I congratulate you all.

“I want you to see your various new positions to work for the development and progress of Ibadanland in all areas of human endeavors. Let your elevation serve as a call for more commitment and service to the development of Ibadanland”.

The Oluwo of Ibadanland, Chief Wahab Popoola Labosinde decorated the elevated chiefs with the traditional Akoko leaves.

The affected chiefs are; Chief Wasiu Delodun Adegboyega Ajimobi who was promoted from Ayingun Balogun to Ikolaba Balogun of Ibadanland, Chief Mikail Gboyega Olawoyin Orogunmodi who was elevated from Aare Ago Balogun to Asaaju Balogun of Ibadanland and Chief Taofeek Ayoade who moved from Lagunna Balogun to Ayingun Balogun Ibadanland.

Others are; Chief Lateef Adetokunbo Akintola who stepped up from Oota Balogun to Aare Ago Balogun of Ibadanland, Chief Nureni Adebayo Akanbi who climbed the ladder from Aare Egbe Omo Balogun to Lagunna Balogun of Ibadanland and Chief Kayode Afolabi Kadelu who advanced from Gbonka Balogun to become Oota Balogun of Ibadanland.

The event was witnessed by members of Olubadan-in-Council among whom are; the Otun Olubadan, Oba Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja, Osi Olubadan, Oba Eddy Oyewole-Foko, Osi Balogun, High Chief John Olubunmi Isioye-Dada, Asipa Olubadan, Oba Abiodun Kola-Daisi, Ekerin Olubadan, Oba Amidu Ajibade and Ekerin Balogun, High Chief Akeem Mobolaji Adewoyin.

Others are; Mogajis, Baales, political office holders, market men and women as well as religious leaders.
