UI education faculty rewards 33 students over outstanding performances

The faculty of Education at the University of Ibadan said that it has concluded arrangements to reward no fewer than thirty students of the faculty for their outstanding performances in their academic pursuit.

The Daan of the faculty, Professor Olufemi Adegbesan made this declaration on Wednesday.

Adegbesan noted that the students would be rewarded for their outstanding performances at the second edition of the faculty’s dean prize and award giving ceremony.

The don noted that the event will take place on Friday at Trenchard Hall, University of Ibadan at 4.pm.

Adegbesan who is the host while speaking further, maintained that the Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor Kayode Adebowale will be the Chief host.

He added that Mr. Bodunrin Oguntade Group HR Director, Jotna Nigeria Limited, Lagos, will be the Chairman of the event.

Adegbesan while speaking on the rationale behind the yearly programme noted that the dean prize and award giving ceremony was initiated by him last year in order to bring out the best among the students of the faculty.

He added that the initiative was also introduced so as to ensure healthy competition among the students.

He maintained that he has the conviction that the yearly programme will help to increase the number of first class students in the faculty.

“This programe was initiated by me. We had the maiden editon last year. It was successful.

“This year’s programme is coming up on Friday. We introduced the programe so as to bring the best among our students.

“We are using is to motivate them, to improve their academic performances. By the time they graduate, we will have more first class students in the face”.
