See your elevation as opportunity to serve Ibadan more- CCII urges elevated Obas, High Chiefs

The Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII) has called on the newly promoted Obas and High Chiefs in Ibadan to see their elevation as an opportunity to serve the ancient city more.

CCII President-General, Barrister Sulaimon Ajeniyi Ajewole made this declaration via a statement made available to journalists on Saturday.

Recall that the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Akinloye Olakulehin on Friday promoted six Obas and High Chiefs in the Balogun line.

The event was held at Olubadan palace located at Oke Aremo in Ibadan North local government area.

The elevated traditional title holders were; Oba Tajudeen Abimbola Ajibola who was elevated from Otun Balogun to Balogun of Ibadanland, Oba Kolawole Adegbola, promoted from Asipa Balogun to Otun Balogun of Ibadanland and Oba John Olubunmi Isioye-Dada who moved from Ekerin Balogun to Osi Balogun of Ibadanland.

Others are; Oba Dauda Abiodun Azeez (absent but represented) who rose from Ekarun Balogun to Asipa Balogun of Ibadanland, Senior Chief Akeem Bolaji Adewoyin who climbed the ladder from Abese Balogun to Ekerin Balogun of Ibadanland and Senior Chief (Senator) Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli who advanced from Maye Balogun to Ekarun Balogun of Ibadanland.

Ajewole while speaking, urged the newly elevated traditional title holders to see their elevation as an opportunity to serve the ancient city more.

He thanked the Olubadan for elevating the traditional title holders.

Ajewole said, “On behalf of Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII), I wish to congratulate the newly elevated Obas and High Chiefs in Ibadanland.

“We thank our baba, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Owolabi Akinloye Olakulehin for deemming it fit to elevate them.

“We are happy that the event was successful and came at this time that Ibadan is undergoing tremendous developmental projects in all areas of human endeavors.

“CCII is using this medium to enjoin the newly elevated traditional title holders to see this as an opportunity to serve Ibadanland more.

“We are appealing to them to use their positions to support Ibadan in all areas of human endeavors”.
