BREAKING: Ajaero set to honour police invitation in company of Femi Falana, others

President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) Joe Ajaero is set to honour the invitation by the Nigerian Police to answer questions bothering on alleged terrorism financing.

Recall that Ajaero was invited by the police authorities to appear on Tuesday, August 20 but he declined on account that the invitation was too sudden and that he had other engagements for that date.

Legal counsel to NLC, and Human Rights Activists, Femi Falana had instead written the police authorities saying his client can honour the invitation on August 29th, 2024.

As at the time of filing this brief report most of the affiliate unions making up the NLC had converged at the headquarters to accompany Ajaero down to the IRT police command in Abuja.

Among some of the unions spotted on ground to accompany the President includes Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria JUSUN, National Union of Telecommunication Employees NUPTE, Radio and Television and Act Workers Union (RATTAWU) among others.

General Secretary of the NLC, Emma Ugboaja while addressing the members accused the Federal Government of chasing shadows, mockingly saying Ajaero was never on the run besides which money does the NLC President has to fund terrorism.

Recall also that the genesis of the frost relationship with the police authorities was the invasion of the NLC Headquarters on allegations that the building was hosting a terrorist.
