The Special Senior Assistant on Public Affairs to the Governor of Abia State, Dr. Ebere Uzoukwa, has lambasted critics of Governor Alex Otti, describing them as enemies of Ndi Abia.
Uzoukwa made the statement in response to recent attacks on the governor’s policies and actions by those he described as agents of Abia State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
He maintained that such unwarranted attacks and smear campaigns are driven by mischief and a desire to undermine the progress and transformation of the state.
“Those who are attacking Governor Otti are not doing so because they have a better alternative or a genuine concern for the welfare of Ndi Abia. Rather, they are motivated by a desire to sabotage the governor’s efforts to transform Abia State and improve the lives of its citizens”, Uzoukwa posited.
He also pointed to the governor’s numerous achievements in critical sectors such as education, healthcare, infrastructure, and agriculture, as evidence of his commitment to the state’s development.
He highlighted the governor’s efforts to revitalize the education sector by retrofitting and equipping schools and introducing innovative programs to improve learninng, improve healthcare delivery by upgrading hospitals and health centers, providing modern medical equipment, and training healthcare personnel, develop infrastructure by constructing and reconstructing roads, providing other essential amenities as well as promote agriculture by providing support to farmers, improving agricultural practices, and increasing food production.
Uzoukwa also noted the socio-economic advancements achieved under Governor Otti’s leadership which according to him include the empowerment of women through entrepreneurship and skills development programs, creation of jobs and stimulating economic growth through investments in Small-and-Medium-Enterprises (SMEs) and improved security and reduced crime through intelligence gathering, surveillance and social intervention programs.
“Governor Otti is working tirelessly to build a better future for Ndi Abia, and we will not let the enemies of progress distract us from this noble goal,” Dr. Uzoukwa declared.
He therefore urged the people of Abia State to remain supportive of the governor and his administration, saying that together, “we shall definitely overcome the challenges orchestrated by the failures of Abia PDP and achieve greatness”.
