The Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Olajide, has commended Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State for the quality and caliber of party people he is bringing on board into his government as political appointees.
Olajide made this declaration via a statement made available to journalists through his Special Adviser on Media and Public Affairs, Tolu Mustapha.
Our correspondent gathered that Makinde had on Friday announced the appointment of some new appointees into his government.
The lawmaker in his reaction, commended Makinde for appointing a former chairman of Oyo State Road Transport Maintenance Agency, Dr. Akin Fagbemi, as the chairman of the Oyo State Hospitals Management Board. .
He also applauded Makinde for appointing a former chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Ademola Omotosho as chairman of the Oyo State Housing Corporation.
“Governor Makinde’s reward system, which is commendable, has seen dedicated party members and hardworking individuals being appointed into various positions. Governor Makinde has shown that he is a leader who recognizes and rewards hard work and dedication”.
“The recent appointments he has made are a testament to this, as they are all party loyalists and individuals who have contributed significantly to the growth and development of the state.”
Olajide, a two term lawmaker, representing Ibadan North-west/ Ibadan South-west federal constituency area of Oyo state at the national assembly, while also congratulating the new appointees, described them as individuals, who have excelled in their various endeavors in life and are considered worthy of their new appointments.
“These individuals are seasoned politicians and professionals who have what it takes to contribute to the development of Oyo State. I have no doubt that they will bring their wealth of experience and expertise to bear in their new roles.
“The Governor has shown that he is a leader who listens and carries everyone along. His appointments have reflected this, as they are representatives of various interest groups and stakeholders in the state.”
Olajide urged the new appointees to justify the confidence reposed in them by the Governor and the people of Oyo State, saying, “They must work hard to ensure that the Governor’s vision for the state is realized, and that the people of Oyo State continue to enjoy the dividends of democracy.”
