The Chief Imam / Missioner of Ansar-udeen Society of Nigeria, Northern States Council, Sheikh Muyideen Ajani Bello has enjoined Muslims across the country to spend from what God has given them in the cause of Islam.
Bello made this appeal while delivering a Ramadan lecture organised by Ajibode Oke-Ona Muslim Community, Ajibode Ibadan.
The Ramadan lecture was held on Monday.
The lecture was witnessed by the Chief Imam of Ibadanland, Sheikh Abdulganiy Abubakar Agbotomokere, Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Osun state, Barrister Mutiu Agboke and Chairman of Muslim Community in Ibadan, Alhaji Bayo Oyero who was represented by Alhaji Abdulwaheed Amoo and representatives of former deputy governor of the state, Chief Hazeem Gbolarumi.
Other dignitaries at the event included the representatives of the Senator representing Oyo South Senatorial District, Barrister Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli, Coordinator of Muslim Community in the area, Dr. Bayo Busari, his wife Dr. Ayodele Busari, former Resident Electoral Commissioner in Osun state, Professor Abdulganiy Raji and
Proprietor of Epitome Model Islamic Schools, Abuja, Dr. Adekola Adeyemi.
Bello while addressing the gathering said that the best among Muslims are those who spent part of their wealth in the cause of Islam.
He said that Muslims should not be miserly but cheerful givers.
He added that anyone who spend from what God has given him or her in the cause of Islam has rewards on earth and hereafter.
He used the opportunity to pray for Nigeria to overcome the present socio-economic challenges.
He also prayed for the Chief Imam and other donors who were present and those who sent representatives.
“Muslims should always spend from what God has given them. Spend from what you have. You will get many rewards.
“Muslims should not be misers. Anyone who spent from what God has given to him or her has multiple rewards here on earth and hereafter”.
