The President-General of Umuoji community in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State, Chief Silas Onyima, popularly known as Chief Sly, has been allegedly killed by unknown persons.
Onyima was killed on Friday at his house, where he was later discovered naked in a pool of blood, inside a bathtub.
The incident was confirmed by the police authorities in Anambra State.
It has been disclosed that the Police Command was working with locals to identify the killers.
State Police Command’s spokesman, Tochukwu Ikenga, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, said the body of the slain community leader has been recovered.
“Yes, I’m aware of the incident. The command immediately sent operatives there, and the body of the PG has been retrieved.
“We are working with locals to identify the perpetrators of the act, in order to bring them to book. Calm has also been restored in the area,” he said.
However, details of Onyima’s murder have remained sketchy as of the time of filing this report, just as his killers have remained unknown.
