Three suspected political thugs have been arrested by the men of the Cross Rivers Police Command for disrupting the by-election for the Cross River State House of Assembly in Obanliku Local Government Area of the state.
Emmanuel Itile and his two younger brothers were arrested for disrupting the electoral process in the Bayaga Polling Unit in Obanliku.
The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, had earlier announced Ashakia Pius of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, as the winner of the March 18, 2023, Obanliku state constituency election, but following grievances, the court ordered a rerun.
