The Super Eagles have dropped two places in the latest FIFA world ranking.
The latest ranking published on FIFA’s website on Thursday shows that the Super Eagles dropped from 40th to 42nd position.
The Super Eagles’ slump in the ranking is connected with their disappointing showing in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
They played out 1-1 draws with the Likuena of Lesotho and Warriors of Zimbabwe.
The Super Eagles are third in their group behind Rwanda and South Africa.
Jose Peseiro’s side, however, maintained the sixth position in Africa.
Morocco, Senegal, Tunisia, Algeria and Egypt are the top five teams in Africa.
