The Super Eagles of Nigeria have now taken third place in Group C of the CAF qualification series for the 2026 World Cup, following the results of two matches played in the group on Tuesday.
Rwanda pulled off a shock 2-0 win over South Africa.
The goal scorers of the game include Innocent Nshuti and Gilbert Mugisha at the Amavubi Stars at the Huye Stadium in Butare.
The win means South Africa did not pick up six points from two games which could have them firmly in control of the group.
Lesotho and Benin Republic played out a 0-0 draw.
This means Rwanda is top with four points, with South Africa are second with three points.
Nigeria, Lesotho, and Zimbabwe all have two points each, while Benin has one.
The next fixtures will see Nigeria host South Africa, Rwanda away at Benin and Zimbabwe welcome Lesotho.
