Explosion hits Rivers Assembly as lawmakers plot Gov Fubara’s impeachment

Rivers House of Assembly was hit with an explosion on Sunday night.

Report claims that suspected arsonists found their ways into the complex around 9pm on Sunday, bombing the entire complex.

This is coming amid rumours of alleged moves by some lawmakers to impeach Governor Siminalayi Fubara.

Consequently, massive security has been mobilized in the area, with over 17 security trucks and four Armoured Personnel Carriers (APC) stationed at the facility.

A PDP chieftain, Dele Momodu, in a post on his Instagram page accused Governor Nyesom Wike of creating crisis in the state following his effort to remove Fubara.

Momodu write: Nyesom Wike and his loyalists have concluded plans to impeach Gov Fubara’s on Tuesday, according to our impeccable sources.
