Abdurasheed Bawa, the immediate-past Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has been released from detention after five months.
Bawa was released Wednesday night.
The former EFCC boss who was arrested by the Department of State Service (DSS) has been in detention since June 14.
This came after President Tinubu suspended him from office as EFCC Chairman over alleged abuse of office.
His replacement came on October 12, when Tinubu appointed Olanipekun Olukoyede as the new Chair of the commission.
Until his release, Bawa’s offence has not been made public.
