The Supreme Court Thursday upheld the judgement of the tribunal on the transmission of election result electronically and the ruling on the 25 percent in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.
The court dismissed the appeal of the petitioner where he argued that failing to transmit the election electronically, it should be annulled.
The court ruled that the failure to transmit results did not affect the outcome of the election substantially, hence cannot be granted.
It also said that FCT is seen as one of the states in the country and treated so under the constitution. The court dismissed the appeal with the argument that there is nothing wrong if Tinubu won in 36 states but failed to secure 25 percent in the FCT.
