The Supreme Court on Thursday struck out the appeals filed by Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and Peter Obi of the Labour Party, LP.
The judges while agreeing with the lead judgment read by Justice Iyang John Okoro unanimously agreed that Atiku and Peter Obi’s appeals lacked merit and should be dismissed.
The court consequently warned against speculations, organizing of press conferences and other media trials while a case is still in court.
It also warned that the constitution should be interpreted based on how it affects the generality of an issue and not to narrowly interprete it to suit certain purposes.
Details shortly.
