A chieftain of New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo had declared that attacks on his property by some political thugs will not deter him from speaking the truth.
Oguntoyinbo, who was the 2023 gubernatorial candidate of the party in Ogun state made this declaration on Thursday.
Some hoodlums in the early hours of Tuesday invaded Bullion Hotel located in Simawa Area of Ogun State.
It was learnt that items worth millions of naira were either destroyed or charted away by the suspected political thugs at the hotel own by the NNPP chieftain.
Oguntoyinbo, who is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the hotel in his reaction said that attacks on his property will not deter him from saying the truth to the power that be.
Oguntoyinbo, in a statement made available to journalists on Thursday called for investigation into the persistent attacks on his hotel and his person as well as an investigation into the alleged role of the Shimawa Police Division in the latest attack.
He said there was a similar attack on September 5, 2023, when a group of thugs, some disguised as soldiers, stormed the hotel.
Oguntoyinbo, while condemning the attacks insisted that no attack will deter him from saying the truth.
He maintained that the CCTV footage shows clearly how the men in Police uniforms were molesting, harrasing and taking away valuables belonging to the hotel and the hotel security.
The NNPP chieftain while speaking further, maintained that the hoodlums identified themselves as boys of Alowonle of Shimawa who is the Chairman of Motorcycle (Okada) riders in Shimawa area in Ogun state.
“They can never stop my action as the voice of the Nigerian youths and I will continue to work for the progress and welfare of the poor and the vulnerable youths in Nigeria.
“The Police officers that slapped the security guards while watching television should be penalized for such action. These boys are always gathering within the secondary school in Shimawa initiating themselves into nefarious activities and terrorising innocent people in the town”.
The Company’s Legal Adviser, Barrister Isaac Izunya condemned the alleged support given to the political thugs by some men in Police uniforms.
“In order to save the integrity of the Police, I am calling on the Commissioner of Police in Ogun state, and the Police Service Commission to investigate the alleged activities of some men in Police uniforms in the attack. We gathered that some men in Police uniforms not only facilitated the thug’s activities but also harassed two security men who were watching television by slapping them and pulling them up with their uniforms”.
