There is an ongoing outrage over Venita’s comment about the Tiv men whom she claimed voluntarily give out their wives to visitors for entertainment.
Venita who has a two daughters with Terna Tarka, a Tiv man from Benue State made the comment in the ongoing All Stars edition.
But the member representing Makurdi/Guma Federal Constituency of Benue State in the House of Representatives, Hon. Dickson Tarkighir has disclosed that the Tiv nation will slam a N10 billion lawsuit against the Big Brother Naija All Stars housemate, and the organisers of the reality show for “defaming” the Tiv Nation.
The Tiv nation is one of the major tribes in Benue State and occupies the majority seats in the state and the federal levels.
The housemate’s allegation had since sparked outrage among the Tiv people of North Central, Nigeria, with many calling for legal action against her.
Hon. Tarkighir posted on his Facebook page thus: “#Venita Akpofure- Slam a 10BN defamation suit on her, the Big Brother brand and its promoters, they provided her with the mega platform to defame an entire tribe and are equally liable for not disowning her.”
