The Ebonyi State House of Assembly Speaker, Rt Hon Moses Ije Odunwa and other stakeholders of Ikwo Noyo Clan have on Monday paid condolence visit to the family of late Barrister Emeka Nwode, a former commissioner in the state.
The Chairman of Ikwo LGA, Barr. Sunday Nwankwo and other leaders of Ikwo Noyo clan described late Nwode’s death as a shock, painful and great lost that has happened to their illustrious son.
They made their feelings known when the Speaker and the Council Chairman led other leaders of the clan, cutting across political office holders, traditional rulers, captains of industry, academicians, Ikwo Development Union Executive and others on a condolence visit to late Barr. Nwode’s family at Enyibichiri Alike.
The Speaker Rt. Hon. Moses Odunwa, the Chairman of the Council, Barr. Sunday Nwankwo and other leaders consoled the family of Chief Vitalis Ekechi Nwode over the loss and prayed God to give them fortitude to bear the lost, noting that Barr. Nwode’s death was not only a great loss to the family alone, but to Ikwo Noyo clan, Ebonyi State and humanity in general.
He further described late Barr. Nwode as a great asset to Ikwo Noyo clan and regretted why death should come at a point when his services are highly needed.
In his response, the father of the deceased who is the Pioneer chairman of Ikwo Local Government Area, Chief Vitalis Ekechi Nwode thanked the good people of Ikwo Noyo Clan for the condolence visit, prayers and mourning with him at this trying period. He said their visit has further consoled and strengthened him and his entire family.
The mourn group and other sympathizers observed a minute silent in honor of the departed soul of late Barr. Emeka Nwode and prayed that such tragedy should not befall Ikwo Noyo again.
