Ministerial nominee and former Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai has opined that only 3 discos out of the whole Discos have actually worked, stating that the rest of them could not meet the expectations of the public and the government.
The ministerial nominee who was at the national assembly today during the screening of the nominees by the Senate avowed that Nigeria deserves to enjoy uninterrupted power supply like its small neighbouring countries such as Niger and Benin Republic.
He said that apart from generation, one of the major issues of the sector was distribution. According to El-Rufai, it is one of the most important aspects of the power sector since it is the last stage of the entire process of power generation.
According to the former governor, he will resolve all issues with distribution as soon as he steps into office.
Videonaija reports that El-Rufai had blamed unavailability of gas for power generation, pledging that with his new ideas, there shall be uninterrupted power supply in the next 7 years.
