The African Church Grammar School Apata, Ibadan Old Students Association has called on the alumni of the school to come together and develop the school.
Representative of the acting National President of the association, Chief Segun Osibote made this disclosure during the handling over of a block of 6-room toilet facility constructed by 1985 set for the use of the students and staff of the school.
The event which witnessed donation of sporting materials to the school by the 1985 set was attended by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Elder Delani Binuyo, principal of the school, Mrs. Tiamiyu Mojisola Olatomi and other alumni of the school.
The event took place at the premises of the school on Tuesday.
Osibote while speaking called on alumni of the school to come together and develop the school.
He commenced the set for the gesture.
Osibote said “I want the old students to come together and develop the school. And I begged the representative of the governor that they should come to our aid.
“One thing is to renovate or execute a new project like this, another thing is for the students and staff to maintain it. The school has many challenges, but the old students need to come together to develop the school”.
President of the 1985 set, Mr. Olujide Taiwo while speaking urged the staff and students to ensure proper usage of the facility.
“We are here to commission the toilet for the use of the students and staff.
“And to donate some sporting materials to the students to assist them in developing their talents. And to donate some books, accounting textbooks to the school.
“It is a six rooms toilet facility. They should maintain the facility”.
Other speakers among whom are the Permanent Secretary, teachers and alumni commended the set for the good things they brought to the school.
