Must read

In a distressing incident, two children, Success Kadi (female) and Prince Sodomowei, also known as Som (male), have been reported missing after the sister of a newly arrived neighbor took them along to purchase drugs and never returned. The incident has left the community of Igbogene in Yenagoa alarmed and seeking answers.

Faith Kadi, the mother of Success, shared her anguish with Leadership over a phone call. She explained that a mysterious boy had recently rented an apartment in their compound, claiming his sister would be joining him. The boy’s sister allegedly left with Success, who is four years old, and Prince, a two-year-old boy, under the pretense of buying medication for their illnesses.

Faith narrated the events, saying, “On Monday evening, I went to church, leaving the children in the care of my elder sister. Both the little boy and girl were unwell, so the boy’s sister offered to go and purchase drugs for them.”

However, when Faith’s sister called the neighbor’s sister after some time had passed, she discovered they hadn’t returned. Concerned, she went in search of them but couldn’t find any trace of the children or the woman.

The neighbor, who introduced himself as Christian Powder from Imo State, had rented the apartment and claimed his sister would be living with them. However, he arrived with minimal belongings and relied on the goodwill of the community to provide food and utensils. Faith expressed her shock and disappointment, feeling betrayed by the neighbors she had welcomed with open arms.

The community of Igbogene is now grappling with the mysterious disappearance of the children, and efforts are underway to locate them and bring them back safely. The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of vigilance and community security, urging residents to be cautious and report any suspicious activities to the authorities.
