Epilepsy pushes man to kill, behead younger brother

One Amos Christopher has been arrested by the Adamawa State Police Command after he allegedly beat his younger brother to death. Amos also beheaded the boy.

According to the police, the 24-year-old Amos beat up his youngest sibling called Thyson until he died. He also severed his head.

The deceased was four years old.

Amos, who is of Dobi village in Ga’anda District, Gombi LGA, is said to be suffering from epilepsy which allegedly changed his behaviour.

Report claims that Amos descended on little Thyson the previous day, June 19, when his health became worse.

Amos, according to the report had a seizure outside and slumped on the 18th June, 2023, and was brought back home by neighbours.

His behaviors changed afterwards as he violently attacked his mother and younger brothers who were at home with him the next day.

He dragged the boy into a room where he locked up the door from inside and beat him up to death.

He dragged the dead body outside and severed the head with the hoe in his possession.

The Spokesman of the Adamawa Police Command, SP Suleiman Nguroje, said the suspect had been saying that he did not do anything, that his younger brother he was said to have killed is alive and at home.

The father of the suspect, Christopher Haruna, said the incident occurred while he was away in his farm.

He admitted that Amos has epilepsy that has continued to give the family goigh times.
