Even if you move to another party, don’t stay away from me – Fubara begs Wike

The Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara has appealed to his predecessor, Nyesom Wike not to stay away from him even if he decides to join another political party.

Recall that speculations are in the air of Wike’s plot to dump the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for the All Progressives Congress, APC.

But Fubara during a thanksgiving reception for Wike on Sunday at his private residence on Ada-George Road said though it’s clear the former Governor may dump the PDP, he should not abandon him as there are sharks waiting for that opportunity.

He said: “While we are seeing signs that it’s like you want to go over to the other side with everybody wishing that, please don’t be too far from me because I know that the sharks, the tigers are really around looking for what to hurt.

“So, being around would continue to guide and put my head straight for the purpose of this state,” Fubara said.

Wike supported APC’s Bola Tinubu, who eventually won the 2023 presidential election to the detriment of his party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

Since Tinubu’s assumption of office, Wike has had several meetings with the sitting president and sources say negotiations are on regarding the role he would be given by the new APC government.
