Ogah speaks on  conferment of national merit award by Tinubu

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress and former Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Dr Uche Sampson Ogah, has reacted to the recent approval of President Bola Tinubu on his conferment with the national merit award.

Ogah, alongside with many other eminent Nigerian personalities bagged the national honour as the Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON).

Reacting, Ogah, a former Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Abia state in a statement on Wednesday, expressed his profound gratitude to the President and Commander-In-Chief of the Armed forces of Federal Republic of Nigeria, on the meticulous gesture bestowed on him.

 

According to him,”this award will spur me to do more in the area of philanthropy, selfless public service and nation building both in public and private sector.

 

“I am thankful to almighty God who makes all things possible at his own time and to my beloved followers and supporters.

 

“We shall continue to soar to greater glory,” the Abia party leader added.

 

Meanwhile, the erstwhile minister of state, mines and steel development, Uche Ogah, has reiterated that his effort to remain politically relevant is not shrouded for personal agrandisements.

 

The state party leader further hinted that his present sojourn in the murky water of Nigerian politics is to become instrument of redemption to people of Abia, and also to enhance their living standards.

 

Ogah partly stated: “My effort to remain politically relevant is not for personal gains.

 

“God has showed me sufficient grace to lift me up from the valley to a place of privilege.

 

“My primary interest in politics is to be a channel of redemption to my people and to put genuine smile on the faces of the downtrodden.”
