Nigerian singer and a member of the P-Square band, Peter Okoye, also known as Mr P, has lamented the money allegedly wasted in the course of launching of the Nigeria Air, saying corrupt politicians always finding ways to dupe the country.
According to Okoye, politicains will soon sell the country.
The Acting Managing Director of Nigeria Air, Captain Dapo Olumide had in a meeting with the Senate Committee on Aviation on Tuesday, disclosed that Ethiopia aircraft was chartered to launch the nation’s airline.
The house of Representatives had earlier alleged that the launch of the airline was a fraud.
But in a tweet on Wednesday, Peter Okoyo lamented how money continues to disappear from the nation’s treasury.
He tweeted: “Monkey stole billions, snake swallowed billions only in Nigeria. Now they borrowed an Ethiopian aircraft for a photo shoot worth 190 billion naira wetin remain again, dem go soon sell this country.”
The immediate past Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika on May 26, 2023, hurriedly unveiled Nigeria Air, claiming it would generate $1 billion in revenue within five years. The launch happened a few hours before the expiration of the former President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration.
