Kano PRP candidates demand investigation into Ganduje

Must read

The Kano State People’s Redemption Party (PRP) candidates forum, led by Alhaji Abdullahi Sabo Rano, has urged the new administration in Kano state to conduct a thorough investigation into the actions of former governor Umar Ganduje. The forum believes that reflecting on both successes and failures of the past is crucial for the state’s advancement.

Rano emphasized the significance of moving forward after the 2023 general election and fostering a strong democratic culture in the country. During the forum’s inaugural meeting held at the party’s headquarters, the group’s spokesperson emphasized the importance of free and fair elections as the legitimate and acceptable means of choosing leaders under a democratic system.

Rano congratulated the newly sworn-in Governor of Kano state, Abba Kabir Yusuf, as well as all other candidates who emerged victorious across different political parties. As devoted citizens, they appealed to the new government and other stakeholders to prioritize the collective interests of the state over individual or group considerations, aiming to achieve commendable objectives.

The PRP candidates further demanded that the new government rejuvenate the deteriorating education sector, enhance public healthcare services, and implement policies and programs that promote agriculture, commerce, and industries for the purpose of job creation and poverty eradication.

Moreover, the PRP candidates urged the new government to review past actions and evaluate the proper utilization of state resources. Any instances of fraud, breach of public trust, or financial misconduct should be thoroughly investigated and those responsible held accountable.

In the spirit of continuity and socioeconomic development, the PRP candidates acknowledged and encouraged the appreciation of previous administrations’ positive contributions, building upon them for progress in the state.

As opposition party members in Kano state and Nigeria, they pledged to persist in their pursuit of freedom and social justice. Through constructive criticism and democratic means, they will challenge policies, programs, or projects by the state or federal government that fail to prioritize the interests of the common man.
