The Kogi State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially introduced Comrade Salifu Joel, the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) in Kogi State, as the deputy governorship candidate for the upcoming November 11, 2023 election in the state.
Comrade Salifu Joel will be running alongside Alhaji Usman Ododo on a joint governorship ticket. The unveiling ceremony was met with appreciation from Yahaya Bello, who expressed his gratitude to the people of Kogi State, stakeholders, party faithful, and supporters for their unwavering support towards his administration.
Bello described the APC candidates for the upcoming governorship election as a formidable and winning team. He specifically praised Salifu Joel as a distinguished gentleman and seasoned administrator with strong connections to the grassroots.
The combination of Ododo and Salifu was deemed as exactly what Kogi State needs to progress. Bello emphasized that Salifu Joel, being a teacher and public servant, will bring immense benefits to the people of Kogi State.
Bello urged the people of Kogi State to continue their steadfast support for the APC, particularly for Hon Usman Ododo, the governorship flag bearer of the party. He encouraged them to rally behind the vision and ideals of the APC and its candidates.
In his acceptance speech, Hon Salifu Joel expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Governor Yahaya Bello for entrusting him with the responsibility of being the running mate to Hon Usman Ododo.
