You will get necessary recognition to do your job without hindrances- Makinde’s CPS tells journalists

Mr. Sulaimon Olanrewaju, the Chief Press Secretary to Oyo state governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde has declared that journalists in the state would be given the necessary recognition to do their job without hindrances in the state.

Olanrewaju made this disclosure on Thursday during his visit to the correspondents’ chapel of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Oyo state council in Ibadan.

He was accompanied to the chapel by Bose Sodiq, the former Special Assistant (Broadcast) to the governor.

Olanrewsaju, a former Group Business Editor of Nigerian Tribune Newspapers was appointed as CPS by Makinde on Monday.

The CPS has however promised that journalists in the state would be given the necessary support to do their job without hindrances.

He noted that his appointment as CPS would encourage and priotise the welfare of the members of the chapel and other journalists in the state.

Olanrewaju noted that as a unionist, he will always defend the interest of journalists in the state.

He enjoined the journalists to support the present government in the state in its bid to achieve its aims.

“I want to assure you that every recognition that is due for you will be given to you. I cannot forget you.

“I have served as chapel chairman and a member of the state council of NUJ. I know the importance of the correspondents’ chapel.

“I am a unionist like you. I am representing you in government and I am representing the government in your midst.

The Chairman of the chapel, Adebayo Raji in his welcome address noted that the visit of the CPS is a sign of good things to come.

“It is a sing of new things to come. You assumed office yesterday and you are visiting is today. We are here to partner with you”.
