Police arrest 30 pro-Biafra agitators during Biafran day procession

Operatives from the Enugu State Police Command have apprehended 30 Pro-Biafra agitators during a procession held in Enugu to mark Biafran Day. The arrested individuals are members of the Biafra Zionist Movement (BZM), advocating for the establishment of a sovereign state of Biafra. On Tuesday, the Enugu State Police Command arrested 30 Pro-Biafra agitators who were participating in a procession to commemorate Biafran Day in Enugu. The agitators, affiliated with the Biafra Zionist Movement (BZM), were detained by the police and subsequently taken to the state police command for further processing.

According to sources, the agitators had gathered at a specific location in Independence Layout, Enugu, and were preparing to commence their procession when the police intervened. Reports indicate that the agitators were holding Biafran flags, as well as flags representing Israel and the United States of America at the time of their arrest.

Eyewitnesses stated that the group of more than 30 agitators had assembled and were equipped with Biafran flags, flags of Israel and the USA, and printed materials containing the name and messages of their organization. The agitators did not possess any weapons or pose any immediate threat to public safety.

Upon observing the start of the procession, a contingent of police officers in five Hilux vans swiftly intervened and apprehended the agitators. The police operation was conducted without the use of force or violence, as the agitators were not engaged in any unlawful activities other than their participation in the procession.

When approached for comment, Daniel Ndukwe (DSP), the spokesperson for the Enugu State Police Command, stated that he had not yet received detailed information about the arrests. However, he assured that he would provide further updates once the relevant information became available.
