The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire, and Immigration Services Board (CDCFISB) has given its approval for the promotion of a staggering 17,331 officers from various paramilitary agencies under the Ministry of Interior. This announcement was made in a statement on Sunday by the Secretary of CDCFIB, Ja’afaru Ahmed, who clarified that these promotions were part of the Year 2022 Promotion Exercise.
Breaking down the numbers, the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) saw a total of 8,365 officers receiving promotions, followed by 3,472 officers from the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS). Additionally, there were 327 promotions in the Federal Fire Service (FFS), while the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) witnessed an impressive 5,167 officers being elevated in rank.
The statement highlighted that the Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Board, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, considers these promotions as a farewell gift from the outgoing administration. Aregbesola emphasized that the decision to approve these promotions was based on the officers’ merit and performance.
Aregbesola extended his congratulations to the newly promoted officers and urged them to view their elevation as a call to serve the Ministry of Interior, the Board, and their respective services. He also emphasized the importance of working diligently to fulfill the mandates and visions of their respective services, ensuring the internal security of the country.
