Must read

The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) firmly asserted on Saturday that Engr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the party’s national leader and presidential candidate in the 2023 elections, will not be switching political parties. Recent speculations arose following Kwankwanso’s meeting with President-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Paris, France, and his involvement in various projects and events. However, Major Agbo, the National Publicity Secretary of the NNPP, stated during a press conference that the party remains united, emphasizing that Kwankwanso’s ideology aligns with the party’s principles.

Agbo emphasized that Kwankwaso’s popularity attracts politicians who wish to associate with him but clarified that there is no plan for him to change his political affiliation. He highlighted the upcoming inauguration of Abba Kabir Yusuf, an NNPP candidate, as the new governor of Kano State on May 29, 2023. Agbo described this moment as historic and significant for Nigeria, as it marks the beginning of a new era of progressive governance that prioritizes justice, freedom, and equal opportunities for all citizens.

The NNPP envisions a government in Kano State led by Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf and his Deputy, Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, that upholds the core values of the party. These values include trust, effective leadership, responsibility, equity, competence, commitment, transparency, equality, patriotism, justice, and the sanctity and dignity of life. Agbo called for the incoming government to follow in the footsteps of Engr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso’s era, characterized by extensive reforms, development, and the provision of infrastructure, agriculture, education, transportation, healthcare, housing, security, sports, wealth creation, and social amenities.

Agbo urged the people of Kano State to support the government of Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, emphasizing his grassroots connection and commitment to the interests of the people. The NNPP also extended congratulations to the incoming members of the Kano State House of Assembly, urging them to collaborate with the Executive to ensure the swift delivery of democracy’s dividends to the people. Agbo stressed the importance of synergy among elected members of the NNPP to meet the needs and expectations of the citizens, emphasizing that responsive and responsible governance requires teamwork.

The success of the NNPP in Kano State will have a ripple effect, expanding the party’s influence and advancing the nation’s quest for a better and prosperous Nigeria. The NNPP’s leaders, including Engr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, Dr. Boniface Aniebunam (Chairman, Board of Trustees), and the National Working Committee, led by acting National Chairman Alhaji Abba Kawu-Ali, will actively participate in the inauguration ceremony in Kano. Additionally, elected members of the National Assembly and State House of Assembly from Kano and other states under the NNPP are expected to attend this significant event.

Agbo concluded by emphasizing the importance of prioritizing the security and welfare of the people at all levels of government. He called upon security agents to fulfill their constitutional duties and tackle terrorism, insurgency, militancy, armed robbery, and kidnapping effectively. The NNPP demands free, fair, credible, transparent, inclusive, and peaceful governorship elections in Kogi, Imo, and Bayelsa states, urging the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct elections without any hindrances or glitches. Agbo invited all individuals to join the NNPP in the pursuit of a great and prosperous Nigeria.
