Buhari Govt fought me for 8 years – Ezekwesili

Must read

In a bold statement, former Minister of Education, Obiageli Ezekwesili, expressed her dissatisfaction with the ruling party, calling them an ignoble bunch who refuse to seek advice. Taking to her verified Twitter account, Ezekwesili revealed that she had advised the ruling party against their economic policy six months into President Buhari’s tenure, but instead of heeding her advice, she was met with insults.

Ezekwesili stated, “It’s been 8 years of relentless attacks from a grossly incompetent, unethical, and incapable @NigeriaGov. They spent all their time in Government fighting one individual – one woman – who refused to be cowered in pointing out their gross incompetence. It is my badge of honor!”

Referring to President Buhari, she further criticized him, describing him as an “ineffectual Commander-in-Chief of the Nigeria Armed Forces.” This comment was prompted by the concerns raised by the President’s supporters regarding his inability to ensure the security and well-being of the country and its citizens.

Ezekwesili also highlighted her role in fighting for the release of the Chibok girls. She recalled the resistance faced by her movement in 2014-2015 when they demanded action from the government. She noted that the government and its allies responded by suggesting that she negotiate with the terrorists and request that Shekau release the girls, diverting attention from the President’s responsibilities.

In a final remark, Ezekwesili sarcastically suggested that President Buhari should hand over power to her so she can address the concerns of his supporters regarding the country’s security. She welcomed their vote of confidence in her ability to tackle the pressing issues facing Nigeria.

Ezekwesili’s statements reflect her frustration with the current administration’s approach and her determination to hold them accountable for their actions. Her outspokenness and dedication to fighting for what she believes in have earned her both praise and criticism. As the political landscape continues to evolve, Ezekwesili remains a prominent figure in Nigeria’s political discourse
