In a shocking turn of events, the Adamawa State Police Command has apprehended three individuals, namely Emmanuel Zira (31), Yohanna Adamu (28), and Edan Paul (31), hailing from Guvan/Kirya in Mubi North LGA. These suspects were allegedly contracted for the sum of N200,000 to carry out a murder in the state.

The target of the heinous plot was identified as Musa Jau, a resident of Mukta, with the alleged mastermind being Simon Adamu, who hails from Kirya community. Simon, who is Emmanuel’s stepson and Yohanna’s younger brother, purportedly promised to reward the culprits with the promised sum if they helped him eliminate Jau over a land dispute.

During questioning by SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, the spokesperson of the State Police Command, the suspects confessed to their involvement. They admitted that Simon had contracted them to not only steal Jau’s motorcycle but also to take his life. However, they eventually decided to collect the money without carrying out the murder. Furthermore, they devised a plan to report Simon to the police if he inquired about the missing funds.

The suspects disclosed that they concealed their identities with veils as they headed to the mountains where Jau was working on a farm alongside others, intending to end his life. However, their plans were thwarted when Musa Jau lodged a complaint, leading to their arrest by the Mubi North Divisional Police headquarters.

SP Nguroje emphasized that the Commissioner of Police, Afolabi Babatola Adeniyi, is committed to ensuring the prosecution of the suspects once the investigation is concluded.
