The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, CFR, has issued a directive to the Lagos State Command to immediately arrest Afrobeat musician Seun Kuti for assaulting a police officer in uniform, as seen in a video that went viral.
According to a statement released by Police PRO CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi on Sunday, the IGP has ordered a swift and thorough investigation into the attack and the reasons behind it. The suspect will be prosecuted as soon as the investigation is complete.
The IGP has also stated that he will not tolerate any act of contempt or disrespect for symbols of authority and that offenders will face the full extent of the law.
