Police kill notorious bandit, recover motorcycle in Kaduna

The Kaduna police command has announced the killing of a notorious bandit and the recovery of an operational motorcycle in the state. According to the statement issued by the Command’s spokesperson, DSP Mohammed Jalige, the incident occurred at about 10:30hrs on Sunday when operatives attached to 47 Police Mobile Force (PMF) deployed to Kaya on a routine patrol along Fatika Road, sighted a gang of bandits riding on motorcycles, dressed in military camouflage.

The gallant operatives immediately swung into action and engaged the bandits in a fierce gun duel, which resulted in the killing of one bandit dressed in military camouflage, while others escaped with varying degrees of bullet wounds. The police were able to recover one of the bandits’ operational motorcycles.

In a bid to forestall future occurrences, the police have intensified aggressive patrols along the road. The Commissioner of Police Kaduna State Command, CP MY. Garba, commended the gallantry and professionalism exhibited by the personnel and urged them to sustain the onslaught against banditry and other forms of criminalities in the State.

The killing of the notorious bandit is a significant breakthrough in the fight against banditry in the state, as it shows the commitment of the police to rid the state of criminal elements. The recovery of the operational motorcycle is also a significant success, as it will help the police gather more intelligence on the activities of bandits in the state.
