Lagos auditor-general assures public after office fire incident

Must read

The Acting Surveyor-General of Lagos State, Ayokunnu S. Adesina, has assured the public that there is no need for alarm over the fire incident that occurred at his Alausa office on Saturday. According to Adesina, the state’s Fire and Rescue Service quickly responded to the distress call and put out the fire.

Adesina also stated that all documents that were lost in the fire are safely backed up in the cloud and alternative sites, so there is no cause for panic. Investigations are currently ongoing to determine the cause of the fire.

The incident has generated concern from members of the public, but Adesina’s statement serves to allay fears of a data loss crisis. The use of cloud backup for documents is a good practice that has become increasingly popular in recent years.

The Acting Surveyor-General’s assurance that the incident is under investigation, and the public will be informed of any developments is a step towards transparency and accountability. We hope the investigation provides clarity on the cause of the fire, and appropriate measures will be taken to prevent similar incidents in the future
