The detained Adamawa State Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Barr. Hudu Yunusa-Ari, will be grilled by the International Criminal Police Organisation (INTERPOL) on Friday. The invitation letter was dated April 27, 2023, and signed by INTERPOL Vice President and Head of the National Central Bureau (NCB), AIG Garba Umar. The letter requested Yunusa-Ari to report to INTERPOL’s office on May 5, 2023, at 10 am for questioning.
According to the letter, INTERPOL is investigating conduct that could cause a breach of peace, violation of oath of neutrality, impersonation of a collation/returning officer, disobedience to lawful orders/directives, impersonation, and announcing false governorship results of the just-concluded Adamawa State governorship supplementary election of April 15, 2023, in which Yunusa-Ari’s name featured prominently.
The bureau also asked Yunusa-Ari to contact CSP Jolugbo Moses. The interview is set to take place at the INTERPOL National Central Bureau (NCB) in Abuja.
