Peter Obi denies meeting with Tinubu

The Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi has said he never visited Nigeria’s president-elect, Bola Tinubu anywhere and anytime.

Obi said the rumours and the photoshopped pictures making the rounds on social media, were targeted at frustrating his objective of reclaiming his mandate.

While making the clarification during an interview on Arise TV on Monday night, the LP presidential candidate said the opposition was behind the rumour just to cause issues among Obidients.

“I never visited him (Tinubu). I didn’t. These are some of the things I’ve been telling you. They have turned the whole thing upside down.

“So, what they (the opposition) do now is think about what they are going to do to cause issues and what they are going to do to label him (Obi) this or that,” Obi said.

Despite coming third in the last election, Obi has gone to court to challenge Tinubu’s victory during the 2023 presidential election on February 25, saying his mandate was given to the former Lagos governor.
